About
For nearly 20 years, Kevin McChesney and the Pikes Peak Ringers have continually expanded the boundaries of traditional handbell music, bringing their extensive repertoire, innovative techniques and distinctive visual approach to numerous projects and venues around the country.
Recognized worldwide as one of the premier handbell ensembles in North America, the Pikes Peak Ringers are releasing their sixth studio CD, Classics, in the spring of 2011 and recently completed an exciting new recording project with world-renown cellist Yo-Yo Ma, released in December 2009.
With an annual performance schedule that includes several local and out-of-state concerts, they have also been featured at national handbell events and on several promotional recordings, in addition to their own studio CDs, instructional DVD, and a live concert DVD of the world’s first-ever classical concerto for handbells and orchestra.
Today, as a non-profit organization that includes the elite Forte handbell quartet and two new youth choirs, the Pikes Peak Ringers continue to uphold McChesney’s founding vision: to provide an outlet for advanced ringers in the greater Colorado Springs community, to teach others about handbells through workshops and other venues, and to create vivid performances that showcase the instrument of English handbells with the highest-quality presentation and musicianship.
